Position Summary: Provides leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the health information management department. Responsible for record processing and completion, transmission, indexing, abstracting, coding, filing, storage, trauma registry, transcription, retrieval, release of information, suspension process with physicians and maintenance of systems processes. Responsible for the overall management of the health information department activity to include establishment and compliance with policies for the health information function. Represents the health center in all activities related to areas of responsibility. Maintains active communication with health center leadership and staff. Functions as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the health center.
Position Qualifications: Minimum Education, Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Science from an accredited program in health information. Minimum Experience, Five years management /supervisory experience. Experience with HIPAA regulations preferred. Required Registration/License/Certification,RHIA (Registered Health Information )
